How it works

Sports Injury Rehabilitation is a multi-disciplinary approach to the prevention, evaluation, and treatment of injuries.

At Positive Touch Therapy you will be treated by Hayley Bennett BSc, a Graduate Sports Therapist, and you will be able to take the first step towards recovery getting an accurate diagnosis from a certified sports-injury specialist. The initial stage of treatment usually involves reducing pain and promoting healing. From there, once pain and swelling are reduced, progressive reconditioning treatment will begin and the exercises will be prescribed to target specific goals such as mobility, flexibility training, coordination of balance and joint positioning. As progress is made, you and your therapist will work together towards re-establishing strength to be able to get you back to pre-injury condition and work towards preventing re-injury.

At Positive Touch Therapy, we use techniques and procedures, including:

  • Functional activities

  • Sports/activity-specific exercises and training

  • Taping (kinesio taping)

  • Manual Therapy - Sports therapy, massage, IASTM

  • Muscle reconditioning

  • Proprioceptive training
